In 2013 the European, international and national authorities plan to introduce several measures that will substantially affect the transport industry.
On 5 December we attended a high-level conference in Brussels led by the Transport Commissioner Mr. Kallas and the Director-General Mr. Ruete. The Commission proposed a debate on three aspects of the new Eurovignette. The first is the intention to draw up a general framework for all vehicles including private cars. The second is the intention to set up new system of tolls, which at present is a patchwork of often incompatible systems, and the third is a proposal that funds be earmarked for the improvement of European infrastructures.
An impact study is expected within the next six months, followed by a legislative proposal by the Commission in autumn 2013.

It is expected that this new logistics strategy will tackle issues relating to the regulatory framework, the operation and management of logistics and transport services, and logistics infrastructure and nodes.
